Throwback Thursday! Look back at our favourite memories of the FINAT ELF 2015

If you attended the European Label Forum, we would like to take you on a trip down memory lane with these videos on the event and the various initiatives of FINAT.

The annual FINAT Label Competition awards ceremony celebrates excellence in label production. See who won this year’s awards, and what this meant to winning companies.

3. New features at the ELF 2015

The new format of FINAT’s annual conference aims to enable more interaction, business relevance and greater variety of topics. In 2015, the European Label Forum added three parallel business streams and a lean management workshop to the programme.

4. New Leadership at FINAT

At the General Assembly 2015, Kurt Walker finished his term as FINAT President and handed over the torch to Thomas Hagmaier of Hagmaier Etiketten (D). Thomas’ in turn was succeeded by Chris Ellison (OPM Labels and Packaging, UK) as Vice President. Kurt in turn will stay on for another two years as Past President. After 13 years since his first election, former Past President Andrea Vimercati (Pilot Italia) stepped down as a Board member.

Lisa Milburn (MD Labelexpo Global Series) and Ralf Drache (Labelexpo Advisory Board Chairman, Herma, D) present an outlook for Labelexpo Europe 2015 in Brussels.

6a. Sustainability – FINAT LCA Guidelines

FINAT and TLMI committee leader Calvin Frost (Channeled Resources, USA) outlines the purpose of the joint FINAT-TLMI project to establish harmonized guidelines for life cycle assessment (LCA) in the label industry.

6b. Sustainability – FINAT Recycling Programme

Jury Chairman Jacques van Leeuwen (NL) of the FINAT Recycling Awards, and Sustainability and Recycling committee member Calvin Frost (Channeled Resources Group) explain the importance of matrix and liner recycling for our industry’s corporate responsibility. Winners of the FINAT Recycling Awards 2015 are interviewed.

6c. Sustainability – FINAT Initiative Food Safety

FINAT Regulatory Affairs subcommittee member Jonathan Sexton (Sun Chemical, UK) explains the principles behind FINAT’s joint initiative with VskE and other national label associations to establish a harmonized food safety guidance document.

7. FINAT – Embracing New Technologies

FINAT Vice President Chris Ellison (OPM Labels & Packaging, UK) and FINAT Board member Ferdi Rüesch (Gallus, CH) explain how FINAT is integrating digital printing into the label community, and how it aims to raise awareness about downstream technology innovations via its new webinar series.

8. Marketing Committee – PR, Communications and Industry Trends

Marketing Committee Co-chairman Francesc Egea (IPE Innovaciones, E) and Industry Trends subcommittee Co-chairman Ferdi Rüesch (Gallus, CH) elaborate on FINAT’s engagement with PR&Communications and talk about the FINAT Radar as the association’s new vehicle to gauge market trends.

9. Technical Committee – FINAT Test Methods

FINAT Test Methods Subcommittee Chairman Hans Lautenschlager (Wacker Chemie, D) highlights new featured of the 9th edition of the FINAT Technical Handbook.

10. FINAT Young Managers Club

FINAT Young Managers Board member Christopher Jones explains why he values FINAT’s Young Managers Club as ‘access gate’ to the FINAT label community.
